What Is a Rebel Heretic?

Today, we know the sun is the center of our universe. Centuries ago, however, we would have been jailed for believing so.

As heretical as it was for Galileo and Copernicus to believe and advocate such beliefs in the 16th and 17th centuries, they stood up for what they believed. And they were right.

At Switch & Shift, we stand up for a heretical, even rebellious belief that the purpose of business isn’t solely to generate a profit. It’s also to be a force for good; to make a positive difference for its people – and those whom they serve.

We believe an organization only realizes its full potential through the dedication and enthusiasm of its people. We believe only engaged people who feel valued can innovate, serve and care for customers at optimum levels. And we know that only those organizations who take great care of their employees – and through them, their customers – will thrive in the Social Age.

The ExchangeGain community believes that to create an employees-and-customers first culture, leaders must first listen, and then inspire. They must give employees meaningful work. They must help them not only uncover their purpose, they must ensure that purpose is aligned with the mission of the organization. Most important, they must help them become better human beings.

This is what we stand for. This is what a Rebel Heretic believes.
