The year may be 2016 but we are still living in a world where gender equality is an aspiration, rather than a reality. And this is certainly true in the boardrooms of powerful businesses where gender inequality is the norm.

Recent research into Fortune 500 businesses reveals that there is a definite representation problem at executive and board levels, with women in the minority on all top Fortune 500 companies.

This research from Ecardshack.com is illustrated all too clearly in this graphic, which shows that world renowned entreprises such as Apple, Walmart and Ford, are perhaps not as progressive as they would have us believe.
