Age of the Telecommuter: Managing Remote and Virtual Teams in the Digital World

With the evolution of the Internet and subsequent rise of the Digital World we not only have a plethora of channels and ways to communicate, we also have changed the parameters of our working environment. Cloud applications allow us to access information, data, and software programs from anywhere. Video conferencing allows us to physically be anywhere and still participate in company meetings. This accessibility and convenience allows more people to trade in their morning commute for working in their pajamas, otherwise known as telecommuting.

New Jersey Institute of Technology has created an infographic to highlight the evolution of working remotely and how this affects company dynamics, leadership and employee management.
